How Much Do Staron Worktops Cost? UK Prices & What Affects the Price
Staron worktops are made to measure and priced per project. Learn what drives the cost and how to measure your kitchen for an accurate quote.
A store-style kitchen still needs a honest quote — splashbacks, cut-outs and upstands are where basket prices go missing. Kitchen Worktops Store articles are written like a buying guide: what the finish costs you in upkeep, how samples mislead, and when to stop browsing and book a template.
Staron worktops are priced per project rather than from a standard price list, because every kitchen is templated, cut and finished to measure. Your Staron worktop cost is shaped by the colour, the size and layout of your kitchen, the number of joints and cut-outs, sinks, upstands and splashbacks, edge details and installation. The most accurate way to find out is to send us your measurements for a quote.
This guide explains what drives the price of Staron worktops and how to measure up so your quote is as accurate as possible.
How Staron pricing works
Staron is a solid surface material. It is fabricated for each project: sheets are cut, bonded together with very discreet joints, shaped and polished. That flexibility is what allows features such as integrated sinks and seamless upstands, but it also means the labour involved differs from kitchen to kitchen.
Instead of offering a rough average price that might not fit your kitchen, we price each project from its layout. You see the cost of your actual worktops and the options you choose.
What affects the cost of Staron kitchen worktops?
Here are the kitchen worktop ranges we currently supply:
Colour
Staron is available in a wide range of colours, and different colours can be priced at different levels. Ask us to price your shortlist so you can compare.
Amount of worktop
The total length and depth of your worktops, plus any island or breakfast bar, determine how much material is used.
Joints
Each joint is bonded and finished by hand so that it is very hard to see. More joints mean more fabrication time.
Cut-outs, sinks and drainer grooves
Sink and hob cut-outs add work. An integrated Staron sink, bonded seamlessly into the worktop, costs more than a standard sink. Drainer grooves are an optional extra. Hob cut-outs should follow the manufacturer’s installation guidance.
Upstands and splashbacks
Matching upstands and splashbacks give a neat, continuous finish and are priced as additional pieces.
Edge profile and thickness
A simple square edge is usually the most economical. More detailed profiles and thicker-looking edges take more time and material.
Templating, delivery and installation
For a fitted job, we template the kitchen once the units are installed and level, fabricate the worktops, then deliver and install them. Access affects the job: stairs, upper floors, narrow hallways and parking restrictions all need planning. We can also remove old worktops and disconnect and reconnect your sink and taps.
How to measure your kitchen for a Staron quote
You do not need exact templating measurements to get a quote, but good approximate measurements make a big difference. Here is what to do:
- Draw a simple plan. A rough sketch from above showing walls, windows, appliances and where each run of worktop goes.
- Measure each run. Measure along the wall from end to end, and note where runs meet at a corner.
- Note the depth. Measure from the wall to the front of your base units, and tell us how much overhang you would like.
- Mark the sink and hob. Show their positions and note the model or size if you know it.
- Include islands and breakfast bars. Give their length and width and any seating overhang.
- Mark exposed ends. Show where a worktop end is visible rather than against a wall or tall unit, as these need finishing.
- List upstands and splashbacks. Note which walls you would like covered and to what height.
Once you go ahead, our team templates the kitchen precisely, so the final worktops are made to the exact room.
Supply only vs supply and fit
We supply Staron and also template, fabricate and install it across the UK.
- Supply only is for trade customers and fabricators who have the equipment and experience to work with solid surface.
- Supply and fit covers the whole process, with one team responsible from measurement to the finished worktop. This is usually the right choice for homeowners.
How to save on Staron worktops
- Compare colours on the same quote. This shows clearly how much colour choice affects the total.
- Keep the design simple where you can. Fewer joints, cut-outs and decorative edges reduce fabrication time.
- Decide on extras early. Ask for integrated sinks, drainer grooves and splashbacks to be priced separately.
- Have units ready before templating. Fitted, level units avoid repeat visits.
- Remember repairability. Solid surface can usually be repaired and repolished, which adds to its long-term value.
How to get an accurate Staron quote
Once you have your sketch and measurements, add:
- Your preferred Staron colour or colours
- Your postcode and any access issues
- Whether you need supply only or supply and fit
- Whether old worktops need removing
See the colours on our Staron page and send everything through our quote form.
